I had the pleasure of capturing some sweet engagement moments between two dear friends — Emily & Tim. Emily was my little sister’s freshman roommate at Penn State, so I’ve known her for almost eight years. When she and Tim moved to Brooklyn, we made plans for regular double dates & get togethers around NYC. When Tim popped the question and they asked if I’d photograph their engagement session, obviously I was over the moon.
I had so much fun hopping around to their favorite spots in Brooklyn during their session. Keep reading to learn more about this awesome couple and see more of their engagement photos.
Mile Square Moments: How did you meet?
Emily & Tim: We met at the first Irish Club meeting of the year at Penn State. Emily was a freshman looking to make friends and Tim was a sophomore. They became friends quickly and got closer over time. Fast forward through some parties, tailgating, and THONs — During Emily's junior year and Tim's senior year, they found themselves both taking the same Marketing 101 class. In a 200-person class, they sat next to each other every day. One day they got drinks after class…that turned to dinner…that turned to more drinks and closing out a bar — The Dark Horse…on a Tuesday haha.
MSM: How did you choose your locations for your photo session?
E&T: We moved in together after graduation and we've been in Brooklyn ever since taking that step! It's been our home and a place we really strengthened our relationship. There's magic over the bridge and in our tiny apartment.
MSM: Why Mile Square Moments? :)
E&T: We wanted someone who could capture our personalities. Having known and being friends with Devin, we knew she'd not only bring our laid back Penn State style to life, but keep us laughing the whole time. We felt taken care of from start to finish from her letting us know how the process works to setting a timeline. She handled everything and it was easy! She was also so dedicated to getting just the right shot that she did some acrobatics and wrangled some early morning dog walkers. We know the work will be amazing!
Congrats again, guys. I’m so incredibly happy for you both! :)
